Nele Charlotte A Warrinnier

Nele is currently working as an Economist for the World Bank’s Office of the Chief Economist, South Asia Region. They are also a senior research fellow at the LICOS Centre for Institutions and Economic Performance at KU Leuven.

As an applied micro economist, they work on topics in Labor Economics, Development Economics and Political Economy. Their research interests are diverse and include impact evaluation, human capital and labor market policies in low and middle-income countries and international sanction policy. Before joining the World Bank in 2022 they were awarded a Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship (grant agreement no 846621) as post-doctoral fellow at the University of Economics and Finance in Queen Mary University of London. They hold a PhD in Economics from KU Leuven.
